Session 137 – “A Very Sad Little Emperor”

The party descended an elevator shaft swiftly, evading the Gremlins they’d been warned about, and entering into a strange space on sublevel 17–roughly where the source of the technological activity was. Someone had actually re-shaped this place, putting up walls of reclaimed wood. The party skulked around, discovering a whole cult devoted to the image of some mighty dude in a chair. Only one person caught them, and Jeb used his escape rune to teleport her to the basement of the housing complex above. The party got a glimpse of the cult’s religious practices, looted some items from a hidden compartment, and some more from the cult leader’s rooms. Eventually the electromagnetic activity readings led them to a room where the man venerated by the cult’s art was still alive, but he wasn’t young and vital. Instead he was hooked up to medical devices which kept him alive well past a normal human lifespan.

The party followed the power cables through a wall (which they covered with one of the medical devices), which led through a cave-in, which led to a hidden chamber filled with terminals and whirring devices. They managed to get past the password security to discover what the room was:

Dome System Control Station #12.

Not only did they have access to a portion of the Dome’s automated systems, but they also had the location of the other 14. Moreover, the station had a teleportation pad in it. The party visited first the pre-programmed location (a dark, mostly collapsed, unused municipal building), then reset it to teleport them directly back up to their space station.
