Session 130 – “It’s not about the hiding, it’s about the friends you don’t make along the way.”

The party wished to make the first few tentative steps in their project of setting up farms outside the dome, and so set out across the landscape to look for any extant vegetation they might study. They purchased electric Trikes and set off South into the badlands. There they encountered a pleasant pink light which made them all feel good, then diverted East to investigate a river of Mercury which flowed down from the mountains to the North. They turned North to follow the river upstream and soon discovered a green light which made them all feel depressed. Unsure what to make of these lights, they continued on their way.

As the party made their way into the mountains they spotted a face carved into a distant mountain, but did not move to investigate. Then they discovered some dry and brittle vines growing across a hillside, with red polyps sprouting from them. The party gathered samples of these, then set down to observe the plant for a night. Transluscent, paper-thin tube creatures drifted in through the air, connected with the polyps, drained small amounts of juice from them, then floated off through the air again.

Further on still the party discovered a hole in a hillside. Within they met a 12′ tall exoskeletal creature which seemed to be hibernating. It spoke English, and was annoyed at being awakened. The party apologized, gave it a phone, then left.

Finally, when the party was nearly back to the Dome with their Trike’s fuel cells just about exhausted they spotted movement in a far off cluster of rocks and moved to investigate. It took all their tracking skill, but they managed to catch up with a skeleton named Tramal, one of Ashgar the Resurrector’s Chums. He didn’t volunteer any useful information, save that outside the dome was a natural place for the lungless skeletons to be.

The party returned to the dome with their plant and tube creature samples to make further plans for next time. So ended December 2520.
