Date: 11/24/12
Playtime:
6pm-9pm
Players:
Ronnie, Morrie
Characters: Garret, Drako
Hirelings: Dorvan, Karja
Game Date: Deep Winter of the year 16,341 after The Fall (Calendar not yet implemented)
The players returned to the manor where they chose to go up the stairs they had neglected previously. When doing so, they heard a skittering, but ignored it. At the top of the stairs was a single door, behind which a woman named Karja had taken refuge from a band of orcs who had attacked her and imprisoned her elsewhere in the dungeon. She agreed to join the party on the way out. When walking down the stairs, Garret walked directly into a spider’s web, spun while they had been speaking to Karja. The players fought a fierce battle, with Garret largely ineffectual due to his predicament. It was here that the party lost their second hireling. Dorvan was bitten by the spider, and died.

The players left the manor, and continued to edge along the wall to the west. They continued in this way until they reached a ledge, at which point they turned back and edged to the east. They eventually encountered a second manor, and took the first door on the right. It turned out to be a largely intact office space.
The characters were careless in examining this room, and Garret was attacked by a dire rat living beneath the desk. He was reduced below 0 HP, but succeeded on his save v. death. The rat was killed, but Garret was left with a permanent hole in his cheek, reducing his Charisma by 1.
Unable to move or fight very well, Garret none the less insisted that the party examine the office for treasure before retreating. They found a number of treasures, including ancient law books, and a secret door which revealed an exquisite bust of the goddess Neve Canri.
Garret also found a locked journal. When attempting to open it, he was struck by a poison needle, and failed his saving throw versus poison. He began to convulse, and Drako quickly tossed him on her back and made her way quickly to the dungeon exit. Unfortunately, by the time she made it to the surface, Garret was already brain dead.
The temple priest, Helmuar, agreed to restore Garret’s mind. However, he required a fee of 500 gold, which was nearly all of what the party had recovered on this expedition.
The players gave the law books to the sage as a gift, earning them some of his favor.

Post Session Thread

I’m afraid I cannot find it. I’m not sure whether one was posted or not–though I’m relatively certain that one must have been.
It’s what I get for putting this shit off for a month.
