Haven Turn

The party takes two months off after the events of this session.

Hazard Die 1: Trechery! While out on training maneuvers, Losco’s army of former slaves was attacked by an organized force of warriors wearing pink-and-purple camouflage uniforms. Losco’s troops were well trained, and fought their mysterious foes to a stalemate. They managed to retreat back within Trumpquatia’s walls with minimal losses. They did not manage to learn anything of who their brightly colored assailants were, or why they attacked.

Hazard Die 2: During the first month of the new operation, the Hangman seemed a little trepidatious about her decision to betray the Internet. Then she disappeared for a few days, claiming urgent business that would put her out of contact for awhile. When she returned her trepidation seemed to be completely gone. She’s been eagerly at work making the space station into a viable base of operations, and has mentioned to the party that she’s laying the groundwork to weaken the Internet from within.

Highlights Recap

In the aftermath of the battle with the aliens, the party set to work assessing the value of what was left behind. They couldn’t figure out how the alien’s weapons worked, or derive any information about their suits, but were able to retrieve a number of objects from the alien’s “pockets” which are listed among the loot. 40 minutes after the battle ended, the alien corpses disappeared with an inversion of the electronic howl with which they had arrived.

During this time, Losco determined that only one of the giant robots was repairable (Haven action, 2 turns), and Stebben carried Jinny Beau back down to Trumpquatia where she could recuperate. Oh, also, a couple randos managed to sneak up from the surface and decided to join the party. Their names were Karya and Rohn Jambo, formerly conjoined. No relation.

The party split up to check out the crew quarters. Mush went to guard the teleporter, while Losco, Karya, and Rohn Jambo checked out the quarters for the civilian and NCO station staff. In the Janitor’s room, Losco discovered a kinship with a long-passed kindred spirit. The other two just looted the rooms fro credits.

Jeb went off to investigate the quarters of the first officer and the station commander. Based on the contents of the rooms, the former seemed to be a tubby narcissist with a passion for model kits, and the latter a businesslike woman with simple tastes and a painting hobby. The party collected a few things from each room.

From here the party went to check out the dry dock, which seemed well equipped for repairing ships, but had no ships to speak of. From there the party went to check out that ship they’d noticed docked with the warehouse they’d first entered through.

The ship was intact, and seemed to be in good working order. It was spartan, carrying only the bare necessities for life. (No real medbay, for example), but it was a space ship, and that was something. However, the party didn’t have to walk around very long before they started running into spectral creatures wandering the halls. The creatures made to attempt to interact with the humans, and the party wasn’t able to figure out much about them before deciding it was time to retreat.

Deciding they needed some more resources to make full use of this discovery, the party got in touch with The Hangman, told her what they’d found, and had her come join them on the station.

They made an offer: They wanted a finder’s fee, and a partnership. The Hangman mulled this over, curiously staring directly at Karya as she did so. She clarified: was the party suggesting they make a break with the rest of the Internet, and in so doing make themselves enemies of the other members of the Council? The party confirmed that’s what they were suggesting.

The Hangman took a long look at Karya, clearly mulling over something intensely. She agreed to betray the Internet.

Thus ended December 2519.
