Highlights Recap

Losco wanted to get his green edged sword back from Strateverius’ Curio Shop, so the party began their adventures setting out that way. Just outside Trumpquatia they encountered a group of petitioners from the Rulers Beneath the Black. They’d finally saved up enough money to try to hire some Fighting Mongoose to help them retake a small chunk of their homeland. The party listened to their pitch, then killed them and took their money. One of them was a survivor of Acorn street. Nobody cared.

Losco took their shoes, and M. Perfect Tommy scalped them of their tonsures.

In the BDSM district the party passed by that same bunker they’d seen a few weeks back. No one had yet accessed the tech within, but it was no longer novel enough to draw a crowd. Just a bunch of kids hanging out. After watching a child get murdered while trying to show the party how close they could get to the guard robot without getting killed, Jeb interrogated the robot about what it would take to get past it. Turns out all you really need is to be given permission to approach by the Department of Transportation.

Further along their journey the party encountered a scam artist selling people on the idea that he could turn non-outsiders into outsiders. They ignored this and moved on.

Upon reaching Stratevarius’ the party did a bit of shopping (they got some shrimp and an environment suit, but passed up on a cat that ages backwards!). Losco discovered that his green-edged sword was actually an artifact of extreme historical significance: it had been discovered on Venus during the pre-apocalypse, implying either a civilization had existed there, or visitors who used magic swords had come there. Despite some useful magical powers, Losco couldn’t pass up Stratevarius’ offer of a quarter million credits, and so the sword was sold.

Determined to get past the robot guarding that bunker, Jeb coaxed the party to accompany him to The Western Pillar, seat of Outsider government, and former location of the Mars Department of Transportation. The party traveled there without incident, and discovered that the floors formerly used by the department of transportation were being used as part of the Outsider’s own mystery cult. They were advised that if they wanted to see this part of the building, they might sign up for Initiation into the Lesser Mysteries, which was the only part of the faith accessible to non-outsiders.

The party got a hotel to wait for the initiation, and were visited by none other than TCP/IP. She identified them as working for The 404, and wondering what the deal was, why there hadn’t been more movement on stealing The Internet’s space ship? The party promised to look into it, and TCP/IP warned that Team Gopher wasn’t willing to wait forever. If they took the ship themselves, they woulnd’t be terribly inclined to share it.

A few days later the party went on their initiation, which turned out to be mostly a way to satisfy Outsider Weeaboos. Jeb managed to sneak away from the tour and find some sacred scrolls written on Mars Department of Transportation Letterhead. There were several blank pages at the end of the scroll ready to have whatever the party wanted written on them.

The party wrapped up the tour, and left the building. On the way out they shared an elevator ride with the Highlander, who didn’t recognize any of them because they’re all new characters.
