Highlights Recap

Surrounded by terrible, high-level foes while all of his similarly high-level companions were suffering a bout of Fade, Losco flashed back to events from a few weeks earlier, when he’d faced a similarly fearsome beast.

He’d been tinkering with the giant robot the party liberated from Penelope the Selucid, and determined that one of the parts was damaged so badly that it would need to be replaced. Ronnina suggested he contact the Hangman. Losco texted with her, and she identified the part as a Hydraulic Modulator. After some time, she noted that there was a group of Technotopians who had one not far from Trumpquatia. (Dumb technotopians think they’re the only ones who can see their social media. They don’t realize the Internet understands IT better than they do.)

Location in hand, Losco also contacted Varouj. Since the technotopians had the device in the sewers, he thought Varouj might be able to suggest a safer route to getting there, which he was. (Encounters only on a 1, instead of both 1 and 2).

The party set out. While traveling overland they passed a sinkhole with distinct dogtracks going away from, and back into it. Interested though they were, the party decided not to get distracted from their goal. They pressed on, down into the sewers, and almost immediately encountered a blue skinned devil creature forcing a group of humans to kiss its feet. The creature was a massive thing: a polar bear’s body, with a lanky blue-skinned man-thing sprouting from where the head would be, with two massive icicle horns sprouting up from its head.

The party attempted to sneak up on the creature, but that didn’t work so well. Random attempted to use flattery to distract it, which worked to some extent. When Poog leaped up on its back to ride it, which so gravely insulted the devil that it immediately turned to violence. The battle was fearsome, and the party was clever, but Random was none the less beaten within an inch of his life before the beast was felled. Not only was his leg nearly torn off, but the wound was infected with a magic frostbite.

When Losco finally did manage to deliver the killing blow–hammering the end of his already-embedded spear with the Inanimate Carbon Rod–the devil’s body began to rot away into nothing. Poog attempted to hold the icicle horns in this reality, but failed. They rotted away as well.

With Random is such critical condition, the party decided to turn back to Trumpquatia, where he could recover.

Since the session was a flashback to events that occurred during a haven turn, its conclusion did not result in a haven turn.
